I received my November Birchbox today! For those of you that don't know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription (cancel/pause any time) where you get a monthly box, delivered to your front door, of 4-6 high-end beauty and lifestyle samples from top brands. It's the best way to discover new products and buy with confidence. The best part, it's only $10/month (free shipping!)
Birchbox was delivered in a nice pink box, and then within the packaging, there is always a nice little box with all the goodies.
When I first opened the inside box, the information card was on top. I love when subscription boxes come with information cards because sometimes they send items you aren't familiar with, so this helps tell you what exactly you are getting (and how to use the products). The theme of the box was "More Good" (The theme spoke to giving thanks and how they are donating a portion of the Birchbox Shop to No Kid Hungry.)
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara (in Black): My current mascara just ran out so I’m excited to try this one. The information card says “water-resistant formula that curls, thickens, and lasts all day”. I’ll be trying this tomorrow! (~$10.76 for 4ml sample)
Laura Mercier Lip Glacé (in Opal): love the color of this gloss. Described as “a gorgeously pigmented lip gloss that provides rich color with a high-shine finish”. It feels nice on the lips and isn’t sticky like some glosses. (~$14.93 for 2.8g sample)
Tiossan Body Cream (in Fatale): I don’t care for the scent but seems like a nice silky, cream. I can tell it is aromatic which is normally something I like, but this one I don’t care for. I'll still use it though since it's such a small sample. (~$1.14 for .25oz sample)
Vassanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Race Rejuvenator: Smells great and I can always use different facial cleanser. I have a fear of my skin becoming immune to one kind and it’s currently in good (non-acne) shape and I want to keep it that way so I like to switch it up often (yes, I’m aware this can backfire with trying new products and the way my skin may react to them). This cleanser is supposed to mimic microdermabrasion. Maybe it’ll give me an idea if I actually want to try that some day. (~$5.67 for 20g sample)
Ahmad Assorted Teas: This was listed as a “Lifestyle Extra” I am not a tea drinker of any kind. Hot, cold, ice, sun, flavored, NONE! I’ll give these to my friend at work though since I know she likes teas. I won’t lie, I’m a little jealous because I saw some other reviews and for their “Lifestyle Extra” they got Ghirardelli chocolate (I think a full size bar!), now THAT is something I would have been stoked to find in my box (~$0.53 for a sample of 3)

Overall impression: Even though it only had 4 actual items (not counting the "Lifesyle Extra") they were all great items and probably the best value box I’ve received to date! I mean the mascara alone was more than I paid for the box! So glad I signed back up.. .but I do wish I would have gotten the chocolate bar haha
They also included a little holiday catalog which has a ton of good ideas and is tailored to different sections (25 under $25 for Women, the techie, the food lover, etc). I thought that was a nice edition since it's hard to figure out gifts sometimes and searching on a site with a bajillion items can be difficult.
