Citrus Lane November 2013 Review

I received our November Citrus Lanebox today! For those of you that don't know, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription service where you get a box of goodies for your child that are geared towards their current age (and sometimes Mommy) each month delivered to your door. You never know what you are going to get, but overall I have not been disappointed.

This is what I got in my 12 Month Old, Baby Girl Box and the approximate retail value I found for each item from their specific website (or Amazon, since if you know me, I'm an Amazon Junkie and would most likely buy from there). Sometimes I have to do some math because the sizes aren’t quite the same, hence why they are approximate values.

The box this month seemed larger than normal, which usually means they have included a toy, which makes me happy since some of EM's favorites have come from
Citrus LaneOnce I opened the box, it was nicely wrapped in their normal yellow tissue paper, but once unwrapped, first glance was all jumbled so I couldn't tell what was in there. They also always include an information card with descriptions of the items and usually coupon codes to buy additional items at a discount if you like them. On the front of the card (in the past I hadn't read the front of the cards, but this time so I did I figured I'd share), it said: "November marks the beginning of the holiday season with Thanksgiving, which means lots of delicious food! We included two new adorable items for mealtime - and an awesome toy that will make bath time a lot more fun! We know how much extra energy the holidays take, so we included a treat to pamper mom as well as something to help get you prepared for the next holiday. Happy Turkey Day!"

Tug Boat from Green Toys (Blue) - EM will love this in the tub. She loves most toys now adays and especially ones that help her to splash. This one will be too big for the kitchen sink though, guess we'll have to graduate her to the big tub soon enough! This will also be good for her kiddie pool in the summer ($13.32)

Zoo Bowl from Skip Hop (Panda Bowl) - We aren't quite at the stage of using bowls yet. EM will just throw them overboard, so we just stick to using her tray or the table itself at this point. This will come in handy in the future though. Seems like a great quality, and I've heard good things about Skip Hop tableware, so I'm expecting good quality. And it's a cute Panda too! ($4.00)

Super Bib from Bumkins (Ribbons) - we go through bibs like crazy, gotta protect EM's cute clothes! This one will be good for when we are out to eat so she doesn't make such a mess since it will catch her droppings. (Which reminds me, I have some more of these pocket type bibs upstairs from my baby shower that I need to start using). ($6.95

Lip Comfort from pūr~lisse (.38 oz) - I saw this in a spoiler from another blog from a much older box and am so glad it ended up in my box! My lips have been exceptionally chapped lately so this is going right into my purse!  I love when the Mommy items are things I'll actually use, and it's a full sized item! ($16.00)

Bye-Bye Dry Moisturizing Therapy Wash from BabyGanics (4 oz) - we've gotten a ton of baby wash type items, I'm kind of over it, but they'll always get used so I can't really complain. I've never used this brand before and it's supposed to be good for the winter and dry skin so we'll add it to the baby wash rotation to help prevent EM's skin from getting to dry. It's all natural, so that of course makes it better to some people but I would never pay the regular price for this when Johnson and Johnson's works just fine for us and is less than half the price. (~$7.90)

Four Sets of Address Labels from Tiny Prints - I don't count these in the overall "value" of the box because they are only free if you spend $99 (and then they throw in the shipping too). I don't like things that have to be "purchased" as part of my boxes however if you are planning on ordering from Tony Prints anyways, it's a great free "add on" valued around $28.00 for 4 sets.

Total estimated value of box: $48.17(not including shipping or the Tiny Prints offer)
Total Cost of box: $25.00 (free shipping)  -- Well I paid $25 for mine but looks like prices went up to $29 for a single month subscription but I am still using part of my 3 month subscription (I think this is the last month of it though!).

Overall impression: Great box and great value! Everything in the box will be used and my lips won't be chapped!

If you are interested in signing up for Citrus Lane… use my referral link and get $10/off your first box (and I’ll get a $10 credit as well): https://www.citruslane.com/invitedby/citrus.lane.607957 Looks like they have new pricing and plans - $29 for a 1 month subscription, $24/month for a 3 month subscription, or $19/month for a 6 month subscription.

Remember, you can cancel at any time, so your first box would only be $19 (with the new single month pricing), not t0o shabby!
